How to get solders to evolve

I believe you can max out just about anything xD I'm not really sure what your question is.

Well, anyhow, to get soldiers to become Fighters/Amasons, you need to have the unit with the 3-soldier group fight a bunch of REAL battles (not training) and win.

For every soldier you get a certain number of "soldier EXP" for that unit, so the more soldiers in a unit, the faster they'll promote. You can also use the Medal of Vigor to double the amount of "Soldier EXP" gained every battle.

A dirt cheap way to mass up promotions. Keep a spare leader unit or 2 at base with 4 soldiers in em(you don't need many full squads at the beginning to complete a battle anyways). Pick out a nice enemy, kill the leader and dangerous units(leave healers alive if any), then retreat. Then let your soldier troop with a cleric, or witch just prey on the target for as long as possible(retreating and healing when needed).

Each soldier gives 2 EXP. 4 full soldier squads give 24 EXP a battle(48 with Medal of Vigor). When down to one or two sets of soldiers run back to base and swap with spare leaders for more soldiers and repeat.

I promoted 7 soldiers once. Could of gone further but the last scrap kicked the bucket finally.

This also works with undead units, as they regenerate and have low damage output, for the most part. Or you could just attack a unit full of ghosts, after killing the leader. You'd win every fight, and they'd regen every fight as long as you don't split up your damage too much.

yeah i definitely vote for ghosts or an unit with clerics
